Basalt Firearms opened its doors in 2010, specializing in the sale of quality guns and gun accessories. In 2014, we underwent an expansion that more than doubled our retail space, allowing us to increase the array of products on offer to our customers. With more square footage, we are first and foremost able to house a larger selection of guns and gun accessories to ensure we meet your needs. Additionally, we introduced new and expanded areas of business: clothing and Bachmann model trains. As an exclusive retailer of Under Armour, maker of quality clothing for the outdoor enthusiast, we can get you properly outfitted for that hunting, fishing or hiking expedition, or just make sure you look good at the range.

Larry Emery, Manager

Larry Emery is a Colorado native who has been calling the Roaring Fork Valley his home for over 30 years. He is an avid hunter, fisherman, and shooting enthusiast, and a Certified NRA Instructor for pistol. Larry has long been involved in public service in the Valley, having served on the Glenwood Springs City Council and as the Mayor of Glenwood Springs.

 

As the manager of Basalt Firearms, he is your absolute best resource on all types of guns and firearms accessories, including: sights and scopes, ammunition, and gun safes. Larry will work with you to identify the best product to meet your needs. If you are looking for a particular firearm or product that we don’t have in stock, Larry will find it. If there is a firearm you are looking to part with, Larry might just be interested in taking it off your hands.

Michael Bair, Jeweler and NRA Certified Instructor

Michael Bair, a fifth generation Roaring Fork Valley resident, has worked in the jewelry industry in New York City, Aspen, and Vail since 1985. A Master Goldsmith, Michael earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Jewelry Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City. He also trained at the Gemological Institute of America as a jewelry appraiser and gemologist, and with the New Mexico Silversmiths.

 

Michael is an avid outdoorsman who believes strongly in supporting and promoting his community, having served in the past on both the Roaring Fork Schools Board and Eagle County Open Space Advisory Board.  As a NRA Life Member and Certified NRA Instructor for rifle, shotgun and pistol, through his leadership role with Aspen Elks Lodge #224 and as Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 201, Michael has endeavored to introduce a new generation to the safe enjoyment of firearms.
